The body is fascinating! Every body is different. Thus, each one requires a different mix of manual therapy, exercise, and education for posture and body mechanics. It's fun to work with people and animals of different ages, body types and activity levels. I enjoy working with my patients and am grateful for their trust in me to help them figure out their body's specific needs. ~Marci Cody |
Manual therapy techniquesMarci began her work as a physical therapist after receiving her Masters in Physical Therapy from Idaho State University in 1994. Since graduating, she has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education because she enjoys learning and gaining new information. Marci's approach combines her own expertise along with different techniques learned over the years, primarily Dynamic Manual Interface (Lowen Systems) and Functional Indirect Technique (osteopathy). Both these techniques work by listening to the body and are well suited with animals and young children because of their subtleness and gentleness. Marci's approach is a holistic view, trusting that the body leads her to treat what is necessary to get the most effective results and improvement.
Small Animal Physical Therapy
Marci has been treating animals since 2001. She took the certification classes for canine and equine PT through the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association. She has followed this training with multiple osteopathic small animal courses and assisted in classes for a few years where these techniques were taught. Her clients include dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses.
